The HD806 and HD812 models have been specially developed for the fast and highly accurate assembly of LEDs in large batch sizes. These models are equipped with an optical centering system that enables image processing while flying over a stationary camera.

True Fly Over alignment

The brand new high-speed linear drive portal of the 6-head HD806/HD812 enables the simultaneous detection of up to 30,000 LEDs per hour (in accordance with IPC-9850 standard). True Fly Over alignment with the upward-facing camera between the feeder base and the PCB aligns the components while the head is in motion. Thanks to the software supplied, the feed positions are optimized before placement in order to minimize the stroke of the head and tool changes.

Long printed circuit boards

Flexible PCB strips, round LED bulb PCBs and even irregularly shaped PCBs can be mounted quickly, precisely and reliably on all models in the HD series. For long LED tubes, the HD812 model offers a maximum PCB size of 1200 mm. (The HD806 model offers a maximum PCB size of 600 mm.) The PCBs for all models are manufactured in a single pass to achieve maximum efficiency and throughput. The HD806/HD812 comes standard with a work table and magnetic board mount or can be configured with a SMEMA compatible inline conveyor for line automation at the time of purchase.

Non-stop production

The HD806/HD812 offers non-stop production. The ability to automatically switch to another feeder when an operating feeder runs out of components allows the operator to refill and replace the empty feeder without taking production offline at all. The HD806/HD812 can accommodate up to 16 tape feeders. These special servo feeders use brushless motors for a longer feeder service life under round-the-clock production conditions. With these feeders, it is also possible to splice a new roll onto an old roll to minimize production interruptions.

Especially for LED

In contrast to standard pick-and-place machines that have been adapted to LED assembly, the HD806/HD812 is built specifically for this purpose, so that it can do one thing – assemble LED boards – really well. The HD806/HD812 places LED components from 0402 to 20 mm x 18 mm, including standard and irregularly shaped LEDs for small connections or resistors Each of the six placement heads of the HD806/HD812 has positive air pressure to blow off “sticky” LED components. Non-stick coated Teflon® nozzles – including customized nozzles – are also available. Curved LEDs can be safely placed using special nozzles designed to avoid contact with the optical lens during pick-up and placement, protecting the overall light output and reliability of the component.
